Minority Vs Majority: Try to be in Minority

The World always gives attention to the people who are Minority in numbers, Same goes with Animals and other things too.

Let's see.

1. An Average or Poor guy's absence in the class.
2. A topper's absence in the class.

Which student's absence makes the class Teacher curious about?

1. A Sheep came into the village.
2. An Elephant came into the village.

Which animal's appearance makes you excited?

1. A Farmer died.
2. A well-known celebrity(cricketer/politician/influencer etc..) died.

Whose death becomes sensational news?

1. A Tree has been cut off in road widening.
2. A cell-phone tower has been removed in road widening.

Which matter makes you concerned?

Looks familiar right! Actually, we are there, you are there, everyone is there, either in the 1st list or in the 2nd. Whether you are experiencing or observing.

If you are in 2nd list you feel privileged, proud(of course you do). You feel like you are carrying a status that the majority of people can't.

If you are in the 1st list congratulations you are one of the reasons why 2nd list people, things feel privileged or for getting the attention they never asked for. Because you are the one who gives attention right! It's not like someone coming from outer space and giving attention to Minority People/Things and Ignoring Majority People/Things.

Let's analyze clearly.

Let's go to your peaceful days', school/college/university, there are these people in every class:
  • A Topper
  • Sports guy
  • A Fashionista etc...
And of course a Beautiful Girl :)

If you remember from your school/college days, the gossips between the Majority of people, Lecturers' focus was always about those people.

If an average/poor guy misses out a class it doesn't matter to the concerned lecturer or classmates but if a Topper misses out a class it'll become a topic to discuss.

If a regular player competing in a game it doesn't considered as a must-watch game but everyone wants to see a national level player game.

If an average looking girl is sick no one gives a damn but if the beautiful girl from that class is sick everyone becomes her caretaker, well-wisher, (I'm not talking about looks here even though we are so obsessed with fairness, beauty :). I'm only talking about attention).

In our daily lives, we see a lot of news related to farmer deaths, agriculture issues. But we'll see that as a regular routine and it became a part of the newspaper which comes daily. There won't be any social media outrage, no twitter trends, no repeated telecasting etc..

When it's about an occasion of a well-known celebrity(cinema star, politician, influencer) be it their Birthday, Marriage etc.. It'll become big news. People will talk a lot about it. There'll be a Hashtag floating in twitter all-day, Social media will be flooded with a lot of wishes.

But let's see what a celebrity does for us
  • Politician - He is doing his job(Besides looting public money he has to talk shit to be in news)
  • Cinema Star - Provides entertainment(At the cost of our time and money)
  • Influencer - He wants a depressed, aim-less, job-less audience.(Change my mind)
What about a Farmer?
He provides Food. of course you are paying but the fact is he is worth more than that.
Don't agree with me?

Ok, let's imagine. The world has lot of money but there is no one to grow crops. What will you do?
eat notes by adding coins as add-ons?

The problem is people think if he doesn't grow crops someone will because there are a lot of farmers(Mind you they are Majority).

But, people will not take a celebrity as an option. Because(you are right) they are Minority.

What's your reaction when you see a Sheep? Sooo Normal and you feel nothing special right!
When you see an Elephant? Excited to see!

See.. A sheep, goat etc.. are common animals you can find them anywhere and people don't care much about them.
But an Elephant, Giraffe, Lion etc.. are the rare ones if any one of them died it'll become a small news.

Let's consider you got a phone call from an unknown number and the person on the phone saying that
"Sir, you are going to get a Tree delivered to your doorstep tomorrow which will give pure oxygen for your entire life".

You: "What! you think I'm breathing carbon-dioxide daily and giving leftover co2 to my children and wife?"
You hang up.

Same scenario but this time the person on the phone saying that
"Sir, We are providing free wifi to you for a lifetime you just need to pay 999 at once that's it"
You: "How do I transfer the money? is UPI payment available?"

See. Its everyone no one is exempted. People take Trees as optional because they are available everywhere and to everyone. No one wants to plant a tree but everyone feels delighted to have a free wifi setup.

50000 people watching 22 players playing Cricket.
30000 grooving with full of energy while 10-15 people performing live at a concert.
10000 people watching 2 players playing Tennis.

All these scenes indicate that the world is only watching out for Minority set of people.
  • They will get attention.
  • They can break the rules and no one will question.
  • They will make news
  • They will become news
  • They can destroy
  • They can build
There are some cases where Majority people make their presence worth is
  • While selecting a Minister in elections.
  • Protesting for a cause.
  • Gatherings
"If you want to be in Minority and everyone wants to be in Minority then you'll be part of Majority" Interesting right?

  1. Beautifully explained. The democracy is broken even in the applied sector i.e politics. Nepotism is what growing in all sectors. The talent is decreasing.. we can't realise this as whatever we are seeing we feel ultimately entertained. When a guy runs faster with a bull then we realise the lost talent crushing by the so called minorities who also have their own well organised group which makes sure they are on top. (Like hype of saif ali khan son taimur in news from his child hood, hype of Sri Devi daughter, hype of other celebrity relatives - it is all well connected)

    1. True Venkateshwar. Nepotism is cutting off the wings of Talented people who shows a lot of Determination, Hardwork, Passion towards the work they love. But its not only the people who promote nepotism, we can blame a large set of audience and media for that. Have a great day.

    2. It is the problem with majority. They are expecting to see their favorite minority's relatives to debut in the respective sector. KTR, Lokesh, Jagan, tiger shroff, ranbeer kapoor, anil ambani, etc are all part of nepotism, encouraged by the people. They didn't started from the bottom and they definitely kicking the rising stars (knowingly or unknowingly).

The only pure sector in this world is software industry where a ceo cannot give his chair to his child - without board meeting and votes. This organisation is so pure that a employee(on higher or lower role) doing scam will not go unnoticed. Here all employees work on well defined goals. Other sectors can learn a lot from the software sector.

    3. Exactly. A KCR admirer doesn't want to see no one as his successor other than KTR. Same goes in cinema industry as well, if a person becomes fan of a Hero then he'll become fan to his son, grand son and to his entire family. Even if they are fools or un-worthy people doesn't care actually. In the name of Fanism, Following they become so much dumb that even if his fav Hero, Politician or Party supports Pakistan they defend it by saying freedom of speech.
