If you clearly observe our politics.. ok you won't even think about the politics right !! Maybe you do, but most of the Indians don't give attention to politics. Because they think it's a dirty pond to jump into.
Indian Politics got impacted by a lot by the things that had happened immediately post-independence. There are people who ruined the country's development, the future for the sake of self benefits.
For example, Taking away the rights of people by buying them a night before elections. After all, This practice is not new, it's been there for a long time.
A chameleon better than a politician because it has only finite colors to transform into.
But a politician can transform into any form he wants to and there is no limit.
For Example, A Politician looks like Mother Theresa before elections and Bin Laden after the elections.
Politicians follow the divide and rule policy. If people are united then you can't convince them, you can't rule them. the only solution is to divide them and rule them by promising things to section/community people.
Unfortunately, they have a lot of options to divide people like gender, caste, religion, place, economical status, fanism. you just name it they use it.
They have been failing people who elected them. That's clear
But are we succeeding in electing a good leader? No right!
Most of the people think that POLITICS is not for them.
They don't think they are qualified enough to enter into politics even though they are capable of changing society.
I'm sure most of you get a lot of thoughts about changing/developing India but that's one of the qualifications a politician shouldn't have right!
Whenever I think of Indian Politics I kind of get frustrated. because I don't know whom should I blame politicians or people for the never-ending saying "INDIA IS A DEVELOPING COUNTRY", It's still the biggest mystery for me. I'm not digging any past political history, But you can't deny the fact that the politics are not got dirtier all of a sudden. (A Point to Note)
It's not easy for a common man to become a politician right!
Person1: "After seeing problems in society and system he decided to join in politics."
Person2: "After knowing that politicians earning more money than him, a business tycoon decided to join politics."
Fast Forward to 5 years.
The person2 won in local elections as expected. He's looting people money. Not caring about the people to whom he promised development after his win.
The person1 is seen nowhere. He got humiliated by his own people. He got defeated by a big margin. He is back to his normal life. He doesn't have any thoughts on politics anymore.
You see, it works like slow poison: Eliminating the good people from politics.
Why it's not an easy task for a common man to enter and make an impact on politics:
- Toxic Nature of Politicians
- Money.. Money.. Money
- People Theories.
- A common man doesn't accept a common man as his leader.
- The Road/Path
Toxic Nature of Politicians
They are not for faint-hearted people because politics are not a straight or fair game. You have to face people who don't care about anything except power. They become inhumane after entering into politics. They use money and power to eliminate you from the competition. They target your family and personal life.
Money.. Money.. Money
Even your friends can't support you if you don't pull money from your pocket. Even if you are willing to put some money to see the change you want in society you have to pour crores of rupees. Even If you win after all these games, money, mental torture you'll reach a position where you don't care about the people anymore, you only care about earning the money 10 times of your investment. You won't live like a politician you wanted to be anymore. Tha's the beauty of this society and our political system.
People Theories
How many people look at the person's integrity and sincerity while voting? Very few right!
Ok. How many people look at the person's caste/religion/favoritism while voting? Most of the people!
Human nature is they only care about temporary happiness temporary comforts.
Youth care about Cricket Kits but not for employment.
Women will care about Sarees and 500 rupees, not for the development.
Men will care about liquor and biryani, not for the future of their children.
Acceptance By People
If you look at people, at first they won't be ready to accept a common man as their leader.
The people are mentally prepared for the persons who:
- Inserts a fear into their veins
- is a celebrity(doesn't matters how)
- look honest by their words not by their actions
- who live constantly on the news(for all the wrong reasons)
- who make fake promises
The Road/Path
To become a successful politician you have to keep your ethics, values, self-respect aside. In order to join politics either you have to go independently or by joining a National/Local party. Meanwhile, The persons who are hungry for power for a long time don't even accept a competitor. They'll put their maximum efforts to make your journey tough.
Local/National parties don't even support you. You need to deposit a huge amount as a party fund unless you're a well-known celebrity or a local goon.
External Forces
Actually, Media/Local Leaders/Celebrities are one of the main culprits in ruining the country and people's thoughts. (Another blog coming soon on this one. Stay Tuned :))
Conclusion
"A person will not born as a thief. society, surrounding people and situations make him rob."
We expect a politician to be a savior, god, caretaker but they know that we don't deserve it.
We fail to elect a good person in the first place.
People won't come to vote unless candidates provide vehicles and pull money out of their hands.
People are falling into temporary appeasing things like money, liquor etc.. etc.. But not looking at a bigger picture i.e FUTURE.
Until this doesn't change "A Politician will be a Politician". That's it nothing less nothing more.
Comments/Suggestions are most welcome.
Jai Hind!
Good understanding and explanation of POLITICS
ReplyDeleteHave few questions..
1. How to find out the right person to be our leader ?
2. How can we figure out a political leader is promising all true and will execute those after win?
3. What steps need to be taken if a politician is not working towards the promises given while campaigning ? and how can we make that politician work as promised ?
Thanks for the appreciation. Here I tried giving answers for your questions.
Delete1. Basically politicians will please people by promising unrealistic things before elections. Because their first aim will be to come into power no matter what, for that they'll go to any extent. They don't consider budget, possibility nothing.
2. A famous person said "If you would like to know a person's character, try giving him power.". We can't exactly figure out a right person but we can analyze a person's stand to some extent by observing his promises, his ideologies, his background.
3. First of all we shouldn't be indebted to a politician by taking his 500 rupees before election. If people takes money from him they lose the power of questioning.
There should be a law to control the promises given by politicians to limit within the budget of state/central governments.
If a politician failed to fulfill his promises after comes into power(may be after 2/3 years) the people who elected him should have an option to cancel his legislative/parliament membership and forcing for re-election.
Yes.. 3rd point will be more effective one..
Delete"cancel his legislative/parliament membership and forcing for re-election."
Political leaders think that once elected, they will be in safe zone for 5 years, just like Govt Employees(Lifetime) think ..
They will work on the things that make them to be elected for next term.
If there is a norm/rule to cancel the membership and conducting re-election if they fail to do what promised, at least they will have fear of loosing power and will concentrate on their promises
But honestly.. I feel ,this is highly impossible..
Yes.. They'll get infinite perks once elected as a legislative/parliament member. That's why people are too hungry for power.
DeleteAnd
Yes, its impossible.
Even if some good leaders start to think in that direction it'll take some decades to actually implement that.
